Every Sunday morning at the church of the sacred heart
My mamma would sit between me and my brother, just to keep us apart
We didn’t mean to act up, but it was understood
That church was only meant for the people who were good.
I’d listen to that preacher talk above my head

I felt so unworthy cause I never could
Understand what he said to the people who were good.
